Hayston Farmhouse

A welcoming countryside stay at Hayston Farmhouse

Hayston Farmhouse is a farmstay at Merrion, Pembroke SA71 5EA, in the United Kingdom. Guest comments describe a warm, characterful place with cottage or coach house accommodation, friendly owners and a peaceful location. It may suit travellers looking for a quieter alternative to a standard hotel, especially those who value a comfortable base and a rural atmosphere while exploring the surrounding area.

For people comparing a farmstay in Pembroke with other places to stay, the reviews point to a personal, homely experience rather than a highly formal one. Visitors mention a large variety of animals at the property and say there is plenty to do in the area, although the comments do not name particular attractions. Anyone searching for the best farmstay in Pembroke will want to compare the facilities and booking details that matter most to their trip, including the bathroom arrangement and whether breakfast is available with the chosen stay.

What Hayston Farmhouse offers

The central offer is farmstay accommodation described by guests as a cottage and a coach house. Reviewers say the accommodation had what they needed, and one particularly appreciated its facilities and very large, comfortable bed. These comments suggest a practical, relaxed base for a short break or a longer visit, while the farm setting adds a distinctive element beyond the accommodation itself.

Breakfast is another part of the experience mentioned in a review. One guest praised it highly and described it as being served in a cosy dining room with a grand open fire. A reviewer also noted a variety of animals at the property, which may be an appealing feature for visitors interested in a stay with a more personal rural feel. Specific animal species, feeding arrangements and opportunities to interact with them are not detailed, so those points are best confirmed before arrival.

Rates, availability and package details are not provided in the available information. Travellers checking prices for farm stays in Pembroke should request a current quote for their dates and confirm whether breakfast is included. Any deals on farm accommodation in Pembroke may depend on the dates and type of stay selected, so the total cost and booking conditions should be checked before a reservation is made.

Accommodation, breakfast and the farm setting

The accommodation is described positively for comfort and usefulness. One guest found the cottage well equipped, while another said the coach house provided everything needed for the stay. A notably large bed also stood out in the feedback. Since the comments do not provide a full room or facilities list, details such as the exact layout, capacity and included amenities should be verified for the specific accommodation being booked.

• Cottage or coach house: Guests describe the accommodation as comfortable and equipped for their needs.
• Bed comfort: One reviewer particularly praised the size and comfort of the bed.
• Breakfast: A guest reported an excellent breakfast in a cosy dining room with an open fire; inclusion in a particular rate should be confirmed.
• Animals: Reviews mention a large variety at the property, but do not specify which animals or what visitor access is available.

Bathroom preferences are worth checking before booking. One guest would have preferred a shower rather than a bath, so anyone for whom a shower is essential should ask about the bathroom setup in the accommodation assigned to the reservation. This is a specific practical point raised in the feedback, rather than a general comment about the quality of the stay.

What guests say about the experience

The strongest recurring impression in the reviews is the welcome. Guests describe the owners as friendly, helpful and welcoming, and the farmhouse as warm and inviting. The peaceful location is another positive point, while the animal variety and the open-fire dining room make the stay sound distinctive. The comments also convey a sense that the accommodation is comfortable and convenient for visitors who want a base from which to enjoy the area.

Breakfast received especially enthusiastic praise, and the large, comfortable bed was another memorable feature for one guest. At the same time, the available feedback is limited and does not provide consistent detail about every aspect of a visit, such as parking, arrival arrangements or the full range of facilities. The clearest reservation is the preference for a shower over a bath in one cottage. Guests with specific accessibility or bathroom requirements should confirm those details in advance rather than relying on general descriptions.

Helpful tips before booking

Advance booking is a sensible choice for travellers with fixed dates or a particular accommodation type in mind. Before confirming, guests should check availability, the total rate, arrival and departure times, and whether breakfast is included. No schedule or check-in hours are listed in the available details, so arrival arrangements should be agreed directly with the accommodation provider.

Guests who prefer showers should ask specifically about the bathroom in the unit being offered. Families considering a visit may enjoy the farm setting and the animals, but should confirm the accommodation’s capacity, suitability for children and any rules for being near the animals. Couples and other travellers seeking a peaceful break may appreciate the calm atmosphere described in the reviews. The comments mention plenty to do in the area without naming specific activities, so visitors can plan their itinerary according to their interests.

Parking and transport information is not included in the supplied details. Travellers arriving by car or relying on public transport should confirm access and directions before setting out. These checks can help make a stay at a rural property more straightforward, particularly when arrival times or mobility needs are important.
